Asy-syaja'ah (courage) is one of the features of the person who committed and in the path of Allah, in addition to characteristics such as al-ithmi'nan (tranquility) and at-tafaul (optimism).
So people who are committed and will always brave, calm and optimistic because it sure was on the right path and was sure God would help him.
But it is not easy to be a person who istiqamah or firm establishment holds the values of truth and always be in the way of Allah. Even the Prophet. said that the decline in letter Hud makes his graying because in it there are verses (QS. Hud [11]: 112) were ordered to beristiqamah,
"So you keep on the right path, as commanded, and (also) those who repent with you and do not transgress limits. He sees what you do."
Prophet. understand the true meaning of committed and true to when Abu Sufyan asked what the most important thing in Islam that makes it unnecessary to ask again, he answered, "Have faith in God and then beristiqamahlah (against which you believe in it)".
On another occasion, the Prophet. also said the challenge for those who committed and holds Islam in the last days, so heavy like clutching the embers.
Courage to remain committed and even lives at stake appears on themselves believers in the letter Al-Buruuj (QS. 85) that is inserted into the ditch and burned by as-habul ukhdud simply because they expressed faith in Allah Ta'ala.
Similarly, Asiya, Pharaoh's wife and Masyitah, waiters Pharaoh, both must redeem their faith in God with their lives. Asiya pole torture and Masyitah in the boiling hot cauldron entire families because they are not willing menuhankan Pharaoh.
Thus difficult to maintain keistiqamahan in the way of Allah, and so is also hard to realize ash-syaja'ah as one aspect.
Humanly someone does have properties Khauf (fear) as opposed to the nature of the ash-syaja'ah. But the nature of Khauf thabi'i (natural) held God in man as a defense mechanism such as fear of burning, drowning, falling prey to wild animals, should be under Khauf shar'ī the fear of Allah Ta'ala. It is beautiful and heroic seen vividly in the story of Moses U.S., U.S. Ibrahim and Muhammad.
Fear may have sunk into the Red Sea is resolved by serenity, optimism and courage of Moses U.S. are always assured of God with him and will menunjukinya road. And indeed Allah gave him way out in the form of a miracle in the form of the parting of the Red Sea with the blow wand that can be passed by the Prophet Moses and his followers. Reality TODAY
The world today is filled with people who have the cowardice. A hadith of the Prophet. predicted in a time Muslims will be the butt of easy prey and enemies of Islam because they have a disease wahn, the love of the world and fear of death. Yes, illness wahn who caused among Muslims was much to be cowards so they no longer respected by his enemies that the kufar and polytheists.
In the past that makes undaunted the enemies of Islam is the courage of the soldiers of Islamic fighters who rushed to the battlefield with joy because the choices are equally good, which the noble life with victory or martyrdom in the way of Allah.
While now Muslims imprisoned by the world, so in love and tied to the pleasures of the world that is so afraid of death that is considered a delicacy breaker and pleasures of the world.
So many people who do not have a high resistance to all the challenges and difficulties so easily recede, give up or despair. Whereas in life increasingly heavy and difficult nowadays are so many challenges and dangers that must be addressed and faced with courage, for being a coward and run away from the issue of severe life will never solve the problem.
Then there are many people who do not dare to be honest or forthright about themselves including the realized shortcomings, weaknesses and limitations. And instead acknowledges the advantages, strengths and abilities of others.
A coward normally would not be willing to admit mistakes. Stubborn, selfish and consider yourself never err in fact will only strengthen the cowardice someone hiding behind all those attitudes.
Other cowardice is not able to be objective about yourself that dared to accept the fact that there are negative and positive position in him.
And finally the nature of cowardice obvious is the inability to restrain his lust in a moment of anger. One characteristic of the ward is able to contain his anger and forgive the mistakes of others (Qur'an, 3: 134). The so-called powerful people are those who want to resist and dampen anger and still be able to control himself when angry though.
If someone acts of brutal and issuing verbal abuse and obscenities, he would enter the category of people who are cowards because unable to control himself and hold angry.
Various Syaja'ah
Syaja'ah or brave / knight of course different from being reckless, "nonsense" or without calculation and consideration. Asy-syaja'ah is courage that is based on mature consideration and calculating because they want to win the pleasure of God. And to win the pleasure of God, is of course necessary diligence accuracy and neatness of work (Itqan). Open courage without calculation, but also not too calculations and considerations breeds fear.
At least have some kind of ash-syaja'ah (courage), namely:
Have a great durability
A person can be said to have a quality of courage if he has great endurance to face the difficulties, sufferings and may be dangers and torture because he was in the way of Allah.
Frank in truth
"Qulil haq although kaana Muuran" (say that right even though it was bitter) and said right before ruling that wrongdoers are also a form of jihad bil orally. Obviously, it takes courage to bear all the risk if we are always frank in truth.
The ability to keep a secret
People who dare to be people who work with due diligence and calculating, especially in preparation for jihad to face the enemies of Islam. Ability to plan and organize strategies included in it can keep a secret is a form of courage that is responsible.
Admit mistake
One of the people who have the cowardice is not willing to admit mistakes, look for scapegoats and be "throwing stones, hidden hands"
Conversely those who have properties syaja'ah dare to admit mistakes, to apologize, willing correcting errors and responsible.
Be objective about yourself
There are people who tend to be over-estimation to himself, considers himself a good, great, qualified and do not have weaknesses and shortcomings. Instead there were to be under-estimation of him that considers himself a fool, unable to do anything and does not have any merit. Both attitudes are clearly disproportionate and not objectively. People who would dare to be objective, to recognize itself which has both good and bad.
6. Holding appetite in a moment of anger
A person is said to be brave if he remains capable of air-mujahadah li nafsi, against lust and anger. Then he still can control himself and hold his hand when he had the ability and opportunity to vent his anger.

Brave because true and willing to die for the truth. The slogan of self worth is attached to friends and sahabiyah-sahabiyah Prophet. because the majesty of the stories of their struggle.
Prophet Muhammad. itself be the prime example when he did not flinch one bit when ordered to stop preaching. He also utter the famous words, "Even though the sun is placed in my right hand and the moon in my left hand, I'll never stop this preaching".
The courage and determination of attitude saw themselves again in the Prophet's cousin and son., Ali bin Abu Talib R.A. Ali took a role that is very risky, replace the Prophet in bed to trick outflank enemies. And sure enough when they tricked out, they were angry and beat Ali battered.
The second Caliph Umar bin Khattab also very popular with assertiveness and courage. When you want to move differently than other friends who clandestinely, Umar even shouted, "Umar wanted to move, he who wants his wife and children be fatherless, and the widow, Intercept Umar".
Courage to defend the faith to see in death Sumayyah, the mother of Ammar bin Yasir. He became the first martyr in Islam which fertilize the struggle with the precious blood.
Similarly Khubaib bin Adi were martyred on the cross of torture and Habib bin Zaid, a martyr because his body cut into pieces one by one while he was still alive. They bet their lives to defend the faith and martyrdom is evident with both of them.
Bilal and Khabab bin Al-Arts, a former slave tortured with a boulder falls (Bilal) and ironed back (Khabab) is proof that courage knows no coating and social strata.
There are also young people like Mus'ab bin Umair and Sa'ad bin Abi Waqqas who were expelled and were not recognized as a child by their parents because they converted to Islam. And finally the women strong and brave like Safiya bint Abdul Muttalib, the Prophet's aunt., Nusaibah bint Ka'b, shielding him. and Fatimah, daughter of the Prophet. The testimony of women is not less brave than men in defending the truth.

Next could be a way that exemplified by the Prophet when advising Khabbab bin Harith who lamented the severity of the agony, he reminded Khabbab will struggle Prophets and pious people earlier that much weight, but they remain strong and brave. So we can cultivate courage and patience, saying, "Ah ... this is not much compared to the ordeal of having experienced previous pious people".
And finally clarity of mission and vision of struggle and always remember the optimal benefits of forgiveness and heaven will presumably increase his courage and fighting spirit, God willing. And Allah knows best. []
